Endometriosis Surgical Care

Endometriosis is common condition affecting around 10% of women of reproductive age. It can present as severe period pain, pain in the run up to a period, pain opening the bowels and pain having sex. It can also be associated with difficulty getting pregnant.

It is caused by cells similar to those found inside the womb lining (the endometrium) being present outside the womb, in other places such as on the ovaries, bladder, bowel and inside the tummy. These cells, like the endometrium, are responsive to hormonal changes during a woman’s menstrual cycle, often resulting in the cyclical symptoms many women experience. With time, adhesions and nerve damage can occur resulting in pain that may also be present all the time.

Treatment options

No one should have to put up with the symptoms of Endometriosis in silence and there are many non medical, medical and surgical options available. Following a consultation, Mr Dobson will discuss all the options with you, including:

  • Non hormonal, Holistic and Simple pain relief options

I can’t praise Mr Dobson enough. He is the first Doctor in over 5 years to actually take the time to listen to my concerns and take action appropriately by allowing me to make an informed choice on my treatment plan. I trust him completely. Thank you so much.

Calming and reassuring nature- willing to spend the time to listen to concerns and explain complicated and difficult situations and options. Most definitely recommend.”

All the gratitude in the world is not enough for how I feel about Dr Sam Dobson, I actually felt I was listened to after two and a half years of what felt like banging my head against a wall.
